We don’t close for lunch and are able to offer early evening appointments several times a week, with weekend appointments also available, to make a trip to the dentist as convenient as possible.

A new patient examination costs £130 and takes around 60 minutes, giving us plenty of time to assess your teeth, gums, and soft tissues. We use high-magnification and specialised cameras for a detailed clinical and cosmetic check, which includes screening for oral cancer. We will need to take multiple X-rays so that we can get a full understanding of your oral health, but don't worry, they're included in the price. After your exam, we’ll go over any treatments you might need and set up your next routine appointment.

Our orthodontic team is led by Dr Marwa Arzoky, a dentist with a special interest in short-term orthodontics. She’s certified in both Invisalign and ClearCorrect and is also a ClearCorrect Ambassador and key opinion leader in the UK. With lots of experience using different aligner systems, she easily incorporates clear aligners into her daily treatments.

Most dental whitening systems can lighten teeth by up to 16 shades. While results may vary from person to person, if used correctly, you can expect a dramatic improvement in the whiteness of your teeth. Individual factors such as the current shade of your teeth, the type of staining, and adherence to the whitening treatment will influence the final result.

No, natural teeth typically do not appear overly white. In fact, a well-executed whitening treatment enhances the natural colour of your teeth, creating a bright and healthy smile. However, it’s worth noting that very white crowns or dental restorations may sometimes look out of place, as they are made of porcelain and do not change colour with whitening.

No, any dental restorations you have will not change colour with whitening treatments. However, you may need to consider replacing some of these restorations after whitening if they no longer match the new shade of your natural teeth. It’s important to discuss this with your dentist during your consultation.

You might experience some temporary sensitivity during the whitening process, which is common. To help manage this, your dentist will provide you with easy-to-use desensitising swabs to take home or a specialised toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth. Most patients find the treatment to be quite comfortable overall.

After receiving your custom bleaching trays from your dentist here in Ocean Village, you will need to wear them for two weeks. These trays are thin and comfortable, and by following this regimen, you’ll begin to see results. After the two-week period, you’re encouraged to return for a review appointment on the 15th day to assess your progress and make any necessary adjustments.

The results of your teeth whitening can last indefinitely with minimal maintenance. To keep your smile looking its best, we recommend wearing your whitening trays for just one night every other month. This will help maintain the brightness of your smile over time.

Dental whitening treatments tend to be more expensive because the combinations of peroxides we use are significantly stronger than those found in beauty spas or over-the-counter products. This professional-grade formula is designed to provide more effective and longer-lasting results, ensuring a higher quality of care.

Absolutely! The materials used in our whitening agents (gels) have been safely used in dentistry for over 100 years. When performed by a qualified dental professional, like the team here at Ferry Dental Centre, teeth whitening is a completely safe procedure that effectively brightens your smile without compromising your dental health.

Missing or damaged teeth

Missing or damaged teeth

At our Southampton practice we provide a variety of dental implant options to suit your needs. A single tooth implant is perfect for replacing a single missing tooth with a natural-looking implant and crown. For those missing multiple teeth, we offer the implant retained bridge, which uses implants to support a bridge without relying on adjacent teeth.

If you need more stability with your dentures, an overdenture uses implants to anchor the denture securely, enhancing comfort and function. Lastly, a full arch restoration, also known as “All-on-4” or “All-on-6,” is a permanent solution for replacing all teeth in the upper or lower jaw with strategically placed implants.

Each option is designed to restore both function and aesthetics, helping you smile with confidence.
